Lava Diva have a freshness in their sound which most bands can never accomplish. The method to their madness is their jazzy minimalist approach on this single. Check them out live - Greg’s got that real professional keen drum/percussion thang going - he starts out slow and then ends up pounding the drums into submission; Johnny devours her bass whilst going into a dimensional trace; and Dawn (whose vocals remind me of Bjork meets a ‘78-era Debbie Harry) is the quintessential front person. Big, big things will happen in 1994.
