Lava Diva CD Release Party at the Troubadour

The growing popularity of the incredible band Lava Diva was kicked into high gear with their CD release party at The Troubadour on Saturday, March 28th. An unbelievable crowd packed the club to join Lava Diva in celebrating the release of their debut CD. The event included performances by Eleven Dollars Strong, Hyphen, Lava Diva (of course), and concluding with Nameless. After the first two opening bands, Lava Diva took the stage accompanied by a short humorous video about the band. Then lead singer and guitarist Dawn Fintor, bass player Johnny Sabella, and drummer Greg Bernath blasted the audience into a musical odyssey. They began with five heart pounding songs, the fourth song performed being Lava Diva’s very first song “One Bad Day” with Mija accompanying on guitar. After the fifth song a hilarious Looney Tunes cartoon “I Love To Singa” with a singing owl was played for the fans. The cartoon was the perfect representation of the band’s humor as well as that of their manager, Jen Hitchcock. After the cartoon, the final five songs performed were exhilarating and the ninth “The Passage” included Buck Sanders of Nameless playing guitar. After the band’s soul stirring performance of 10 thought provoking songs, the trio returned to the stage for an encore. The roar of the crowd cheering for more brought Lava Diva back to the stage for one more song. They chose to perform the song, “Pink Noise”, which they dedicated to their manager. Lava Diva’s music is all about traditional alternative and is performed with enthusiasm and guts. Once you hear the music of Lava Diva it will become part of your soul forever. The evening concluded with a performance by the band Nameless, which regrouped one time only for this special performance. Band members from several other popular bands came to celebrate the evening, including: Downgirl, Hidden, and Sweater Girl. This party was an excellent way to end the month of March for Lava Diva, and to begin the month of April which showed to be successful for the band as well. Keep your eyes and ears open for all future Lava Diva Shows.
