Lava Diva—This band’s got me scratching my head. Singer Dawn sounds like Kristen Hersch on acid, and the music rests somewhere between Rage Against the Machine and Tool. Lava Diva’s self-titled, self released CD suffers from weak production overshadowing some interesting moments. That said, a good producer might really help shape Lava Diva, giving them a tighter focus and a meaner edge.
